We are high school sisters (Brittan Gallo and Barrett Gallo) from Rhode Island. We see firsthand the growing epidemic of food insecurity as volunteers for Lasagna Love. The Lasagna Love nonprofit connects volunteer chefs who deliver lasagna to community members experiencing hardship. Several of our weekly deliveries are to motels and one-bedroom apartments housing multiple families. Whenever a delivery is made, we pull away, worried about hunger.

Like you, we want to help; we want to do more.

But how? As food prices rise and cold weather approaches much of the country. So how can one individual impact a massive global problem?
